Tandem Wanted
Our visually impaired member Steve Parnell wants to acquire a tandem for himself to make training for the triathlons he takes part in logistically easier. At the moment, as some of you know, he rides with myself on my tandem. This takes a bit of planning as far as getting me, him and the tandem, in one place. This is ok for cycle training but as my swimming is a little suspect and my running is non- existent, having his own tandem will mean his swimming and running guides can help more.
Do you know of anyone, friend, family or workmate with a tandem that is not being used or is gathering dust in a garage? If so, would they be prepared to sell it. We are prepared to look at anything no matter how old. Ideally, a double gents frame of, say 22” front seat tube and 22” or 21” rear seat tube is what we are after. But slightly larger may do. Obviously as it is ultimately going to be used in competition, the lighter the better. We also realise that a certain amount of rectification work may need to be carried out.
