The A5 Rangers Cycling Club enjoyed a good turn out for its latest evening time trial. Fifteen riders took part in the 10 mile event using the Greens Norton, Litchborough, Maidford and Blakesley course. Fastest rider was Ian Ellis with a time of 25 minutes and 57 seconds. This was 8 seconds faster than the runner up, Andy Ilsley of the Baines Racing team. Third was Leon Creswick, taking part after a break of many years. His time was 27 min. 27 seconds. Three members of the club were racing for the first time – Derek Moyle 30.44, Owen Brunsden 32.50 and Kyle Kirton 34.32.
Fastest lady was Sarah Crisp with a time of 31.51. Other times were Dave Nichols 27.28, Trevor Parrish 28.10, Luke Thomas 28.26, Murray Kirton 28.31, Martin Smith 30.45, Chris Brown 31.46, Sue Holliday 34.45 and Jane Grant 35.17.
 
The Club’s Dave Lazenby recently took part in a 12 hour or half day time trial event at Pocklington in Yorkshire. Riders race solo over a set route and amass as many miles as possible in the 12 hours. Dave’s mileage at the end of his ride was a very impressive 257.19 miles. This was a beating of his own previous club record by over 9 miles.   
 
Club members have also been taking part in other Open time trials. In the Northampton and District Cycling Association 20 mile event at Sawtry Trevor Parrish finished in a time of 52 minutes 28 seconds and Keith Gelder 56 minutes and 58 seconds. Ian Ellis with a time of 24 min 21 secs and Tim Carey with a time of 25 min 02 secs took part in the Hitchin Nomads CC 10 mile event at Biggleswade.
