The
additional ride was led out by Craig through Greens Norton, Cold Higham, Fosters Booth, Pattishall
and Kislingbury. Paul Smith said his goodbyes at the roundabout across the A4500 and returned
home. Up the hill with a left turn taking us through Harpole to avoid the worst of the traffic and
on to Little Brington. A left turn now at Great Brington to take us down the road to Whilton. Jane
W., recognised this lane as part of the route we took on last years Cynthia Spencer charity ride.
Through Whilton and down the hill to the Garden Centre at Whilton Locks. Pete S., said his goodbye
here. The back gate was locked but one of the staff opened the gate for us to wheel the bikes
through to the cafe, on the way out the gates had been locked again and we had to ask again to get
out. This must now be the new security procedure. The manager in the cafe suggested if we go
through Daventry to stop at Rosso's cafe and I surprised her by saying we were there last Xmas for
the club dinner, obviously we did not make a big impression on her then. Home now back up the hill
we previously flew down with a right turn down the very bumpy lane to Brockhall, Flore, Nether
Heyford, Bugbrooke, Gayton, Tiffield, Greens Norton and home. Back at 1.45pm with a distance
covered of 40 miles with one puncture repaired efficiently by Roddy G., at the very start of the
ride. A mention must also be given to the good company and road sense of the youngsters Rhona G.,
Alisdair G., and Harry W. Glad to have you out with us.
