Club Ride 02/04/2011
An overcast sky with perhaps a hint of rain greeted the members who came for the two rides. Keith Mason took his band out to sample the home made cakes at Church Stowe via Greens Norton, Bradden, Blakesley, Maidford, Farthingstone and up the hill to the village hall at Church Stowe. Craig took the longer run group out via Stoke Bruerne, Hartwell, Hanslope, Newport Pagnell, North Crawley, Cranfield and to the cafe at Marstone Mortaine Country Park. Many other cyclists were seen around this area including Team MK and Team Phil Corley. After lunch the route home was via Bourne Green, Astwood, Newton Blossomville, Turvey and in for a coffee stop at Olney. On to the lovely village of Weston Underwood through to Stoke Goldington and the not so lovely main road to the turn off for Salcey Forest. Was tempted to stop again for more cake at the cafe but instead we pressed on for home through Stoke Bruerne. Home at 4pm with a distance covered of 62 miles and it did not rain after all. Congratulations to Pete Warner as this was his first 50+ mile ride and so he gets his first three points on the club run scorecard. Jane keep your eye on his and your points!
