Shorter club run 05/03/11
Better weather saw a good turn out of 18 people for the club run. Martin Smith led out an Additional Run with 7 members with a welcome to guest rider Steve Marchant of Swindon RC. That meant 10 of us including young Harry Warner and a member up from Surrey Jon Goodge set out to the Old Dairy Farm at Upper Stowe. The route was out via Greens Norton, Cold Higham, across the A5 over the two hills near Pattishall where at the bottom crossroads Keith M., headed home via Bugbrooke. We went on to Rothersthorpe, over the top of a very busy M1, Kislingbury, back over the M1 to Bugbrooke, Nether Heyford and so to the farm. As it was early spring and the first lambing weekend the cafe was full of parents and children. However the staff were prepared for a crowd and getting served was not a problem. The tea cakes were large so we were happy. Oddly when we left at about midday the cafe was nearly empty so we must have all arrived at roughly the same time. At the cafe after his coffee Chris W., left for home ahead of us. Our route home was via the good swoop down the hill to Farthingstone, Litchborough, Greens Norton and home at 1pm with a distance covered of 29 miles and no punctures.
