Clubrun Saturday 17 July 2010
A cool breezy morning with a hint of rain at the start of the ride. Thirteen riders J Anders., Harry C., Dennis D., Julie H., Matt L., Dave N., Sue Overton ( welcome) Andy Overton., John Roberts., Peter S., Luke T., and Jane W., led by Craig H., set off from the rear of the club with Keith Mason waving us goodbye; Keith unfortunately could not join us today. The route chosen was for the cafe stop to be the Narrow Boat/Granny's Kitchen on the A5 near Weedon via Mc Donalds, Greens Norton and down the Banbury Lane to cross the A5 at Foster's Booth. Then up over the first hill/slope to Rothersthorpe, Kislingbury and Bugbrooke to Granny's Cafe, a distance of about 14 miles. After refreshments and a good chin-wag it was time to face that hill out of Weedon: on via Farthingstone, Litchbourgh, Greens Norton and our ever popular Little bridge and Big bridge (thank you for those names Jane) on the run in to Towcester. Ride statistics: distance travelled 30 miles, ride time 2 hours 15 minutes. A good run out.
