First of all Happy Christmas and a Happy and fast New Year to all my co-Rangers. Thanks for your cards and emails, I didn't send any cards (or presents) this year because the available budget went into helping displaced persons' villages in the Karen state of Burma.
Meanwhile on 19 December I had a nasty smash on the bike whilst on a 120km group ride. A touch of wheels and I was gone: broken femur, unconscious for 6 hours, damaged ribs, shoulder and spine. That was a 22 mph touch of wheels! All I can say is thank goodness I was wearing a helmet. And if you are riding in the front of a group or have riders behind, don't touch your brakes!
We are in the middle of our racing season here and I was doing well .... 5 races, 3 wins and 2 seconds. I'll be missing a lot of races now. But, hey, that's life!
